last night my phone was working fine - this morning it stopped working.

when it's plugged into the charger it all lights up ant the battery shows as fully charged.

as soon as it unplugged the password prompt appears but the phone appears to have frozen.

after a few seconds the phone fades to black and then i cant do anything elese with it.........

it's a blackberry 8900, about 3 months old.

(Ive tried taking the battery out)

What was the last thing you did to the device before this happened?

Did you buy it new or used?

Have you let the battery run down consistently below 20%?

Have you dropped it or gotten it wet?

Hi - Sorry it's an 8900. I went out on my bike this morning but it was kept in a waterproof case. I have taken it with me many times previously.

It was bought brand new - its a company phone.

Its not been dropped or got wet.

The big question is has the phone ever been allowed to run the battery down below 20-25% or dead?

Yes, many times. The odd thing though is that the battery is showing full charge as soon as its unplugged and before screen fades to black.

The battery is defective and needs to be replaced. LI batterys should NEVER be allowed to go below 20%
Do not buy a non OEM battery
