I have 2 accounts. One account, is the Top 10 (10 free numbers/long distance and minutes) and the other is the Hot Spot with Top 5 (5 free numbers/long distance and minutes).

I got the 2nd phone (8900) for the wi-fi capabilities.

I tried putting the 9000 (top 10) account into the 8900 to see if the wifi/uma functions, and it does. So I'm wondering if I will get charged on the bold account for the long distance calls using the UMA (if the numbers are not int the top 10), because the plan is not on that account, but the UMA works.

If so, then I can cancel the Hot Spot plan.

Another user familiar with Rogers plans needs to comment but I'm thinking the UMA will work but it will take minutes out of your normal plan minutes.

Thanks for the quick reply. Anyone else. Rogers won't let me add the hot spot to the top10 that I have, so this is why I got the extra line. But if I don't need the hot spot plan, then I will gladly cancel it, and keep the phone.

Certainly, I can test it by making calls with UMA with the non Hot Spot plan, and see if I get charged for those calls.

A parallel question is, does Rogers 'see' the calls made over wi-fi???
