I upgraded about a month ago to Blackberry Messanger 5.0.0.8 and I am not crazy how it handles picture media coming in or going out... Is there a way to backdate to a previous version ota?

There are times I will miss images, they will Expire after a certain time and I can not access them. Also when I send pics I have to crop them where as before it would be done automaticly.

Just uninstall 5.0 in DM and reinstall 4.5. It should down grade messenger

From the OS file. Install the OS onto your PC and then go into App Loader via DM.

I downloaded that and I browsed for it, show ALL then I find it but it gives me an error.

No applications found for your device. The file saved as bbm.jad is that right?
It is not ALX or ALI, is that right?

nope it comes included in the OS for 4.5 and above.

4.2 and above. You can OTA install it for 4.0 and 4.1.

What do I need to do exactly, I am hesitant to delete 5.0 until I have an idea how to get 4.5 on 1st?

The only issue I have with 5.0 is when I receive a pic in BBM I have to SAVE it before I view it. Before I could VIEW and saw a preview even.

Hey. i installed 5.0 and now I can't see the BBM icon... I see that I am getting bbm's but can't check them :S

They should also show in your messages folder. Do you have dial from homescreen disabled? If so, press N to go into BBM.

Sounds like it didn't install properly. Do you see it in your applications list? It should show as BBM 5.0 as opposed to BlackBerry Messenger.

If so, try deleting it and reinstalling it.

Trying to load b ack the same alx file it tells me now that it's not compatible but but it will still let me install. I don't install.

It brings back up the previous version but wen i try to isntall that, it tells me some files are missing.

I would really like the bbm5.0. Maybe I downloaded the wrong files..

I had this issue on my 8830 when I wrongly installed BBM 5 which is not meant for it. The only solution I got was to reinstall old BBM via desktop manager. A word of caution there are chances that your old BBM will not work properly after reinstall as mine is now not showing buddies at all even after 3 or 4 reinstalls.
