quick question - is there a difference between a microSd card and a miniSD?
when i look for memory cards I see different types of mini storage cards.
So, essentially, for my Pearl, should I only get something that's called a "Micro SD"?
thx

Yes, they are two different formats. Only the "Micro SD" will work in the Pearl.

There is a difference. Get the one that looks like it has TEETH on one side. The mini SD is way to large. Get the Micro SD

I suggest getting the 1GB at a minimum. I just got one from Newegg for $41 shipped. That's not too bad.

Yup - great deal. I just ordered it. And agreed, I hate MIRs - especially one for $9 - doesn't even seem to be worth the effort

Ordered one as well. With Google Checkout, that is the best deal on the net for sure!
Does anyone know how many pics you can store on that 1gb card?

Wirelessly posted (Cingular-Blue 7290: BlackBerry7290/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/101)
My Corsair 2GB MicroSD arrived from NewEgg.com after soon after the BiG announcement about the Cingular Pearl release.
Since my Pearl is due tomorrow, I need to review the forum (and the online manual) regarding formatting; whether it should be done on WindowsXP or using the device to format it and the pros and cons of each.
Steve

I'll save you the trouble - format the card with the Pearl (or at least ensure you format the card as FAT16). the Pearl doesn't do Fat32 :(

Do you guys have problems with the microsd? Mine won't read the card saying its not formatted. But i did format the micro before putting songs on there. Do I have to make a folder to put the songs under?
