Quote:
British telco BT has reached agreements with German mobile handset maker Siemens and Canadian wireless solutions provider Research In Motion (RIM) to offer UK corporate customers the Siemens SK65 handset with Blackberry Built-In technology. The Siemens SK65 is the first mobile phone to offer Blackberry applications such as email through RIM’s Blackberry Built-In licensing programme.
BT Mobile is to initially offer five Siemens handsets from the Siemens 65 range. Customers will also be offered terms via BT and a two-year warranty.
Following the agreement with RIM to support Blackberry Built-In technology, BT Mobile customers are to have access to ‘always on’, push-based access to their calendar and inbox via the Siemens SK65. Emails received on their desktop computer are sent to their mobile phone which is synchronised wirelessly with the office system. The Siemens SK65 incorporates a full sized keyboard.
The SK65 has 64MB internal memory and up to 30MB free for storing personal information such as emails and java applications. The SK65 is compatible with Siemens’ HKW-600 Bluetooth car kit, which links to the mobile phone via Bluetooth.
