See Post 195 above.
I may download and install .297 this afternoon, if only not to reinstall Flycast 2.0 which takes up too much space and takes forever, if ever, to start up. I loaded it up through BB App World and and can't get rid of it. It just stays archived on my Bold. Am running an earlier version of Flycast which takes up a third of the space and actually loads fast.

No, Desktop Manager does not do a low level wipe. Use either JL_Cmder or BBSAK.

As I'm not sure if it's OK to post links to unreleased software, I can't tell you exactly where, but if you do a Google search I'm sure you'll find it.

Yes you're correct, doing so is a no no, but I didn't realize it had not been released yet. My excitement over this stuff has caused me much confusion.
thanks

Well, all I have are 102s and isn't AT&T 102? Or, do I need the phones native vendor id? If so, how do I determine that? So sorry for being such a pest, trying to learn!

You can do 1 of 2 things:
1) You can delete all instances that say, _VendorID="102"
2) You can press Alt+Shift+H to see your Vendor ID and then change the vendor ID in the file.

Looking up BBSAK, is it really as simple as just clicking "Wipe Device" and then "Factory Reset"?
If so, does this void my 1 year warrenty?

You don't need to do the Factory Reset unless your are on a BES and you want to remove the IT Policy. Wipe Device is all you need, and yes it's that easy, no it will not void the warranty.

Great, I will try that tonight.
So once I click "Wipe Device", will it load the OS too? Or is that when it will be bricked? If so, how do I get the OS back on there once the phone is bricked?

Yes, that will brick the device and give you a 507 error. Just connect the device to the pc and run loader.exe to install the OS. Then use DM to restore your backup.

Which do you prefer? Alt+Shift+H told me 179. I replaced the five instances of it, and saved it. Do I need to rerun the loader or can i just push out the vvm use dm?

When you run app loader in DM what do you see? Is BBM listed as an option. If so uncheck 4.6. run it. replace cods and check BBM before running DM again.

Stinsonddog, Direct to the Laptop and I even tried on a fresh install on another computer. I tried wiping with JLCommander and now it says Reload Software 507, and even at that it wont load.
I went to the ATT store that my buddy owns, he let me borrow a new Bold till my company replaces mine. I went home and updated the one he gave me and it upgraded without a hitch.
So I have a loaner and now just waiting for my replacement from my company to get here
Thanks for your suggestions,
Laterz,
Sammy
