Default Issue with new message indicator after activating VVM

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using .282 and enabled VVM yesterday. Mostly seems to be working fine.

Now, however, whenever I receive an e-mail (not voicemail), I must visit the "master" Messages application in order for the new message indicator (small on at top of screen next to new message count) to go away.

Here's an example: I get a personal godaddy email. I go to my godaddy email by clicking on its icon. I read the email. When I'm done, I go back to the home screen. The new message indicator on the godaddy icon is gone, but the new message indicator at the top of the screen is still there. I go to the Messages icon (which still has a new message indicator as well), and click it. The messages folder opens, and there are no unread messages. I go back to the home screen, and now all new message indicators are gone.

I can say for certain this was not occuring before I enable VVM, so I'm almost sure there is a link.

Is anyone seeing this same behavior on the latest AT&T OS too?

(Yes, I have done a battery pull.)

Yes I get this problem on the AT&T 4.6.0.297 as well. I notice the issue only happens if you open the Messages folder immediately after the message arrives. If you wait a few seconds it doesn't happen.

What I am saying is that you should not have to go into the Messages folder at all to get the new message indicator to leave. In my case, just going to the godaddy folder should be enough. It always had been in the past. I personally have no use for the Messages folder. I have separate folders for by BES mail and for each personal account...

Exclamation

Interestingly enough - I was on the forums this morning to find out if this is happening to anyone else. It's also happening to me. Extremely annoying.

This only happened after I upgraded to 4.6.0.297 - I was running 4.6.0.292 before with VVM and didn't have this behavior.

For some reason I have two voice mail message indicators.. I upgraded on Tuesday. I deleted all of my VVM and it still shows. Me thinks they have some issues with this new release.

Yeah - I am back to normal now. The hard reset and the service books sent did the trick.

Best.
