I was in the process of updating the os on my daughters curve when approximately halfway through the process, a window popped up saying that I needed administrative permission to load this software. I know this is a setting imposed on my pc br out IT department to prevent salespeople from downloading stupid programs. I have a call into my IT guy to get his passworod so that I can complete the instal. In the meantime, the progress window from RIM errored out from having to wait too long I guess. The phone is still connected to my pc with the red led on constant. If I hit the back button to activate the screen which would usually show the conecction graphic, nothing happens - the screen stays blank. Also, in my BB desktop window, where it says at the bottom right "device connected(pin)" the pin no longer shows up and it says "None" even though the phone is still connected. How do I restore the connection so that when I get my IT password I can reinitiate the os install?

It appears you are out of business for now, until you get that password.

For now, I would do this: Disconnect from the USB cable, remove the battery and replace to see if it will reboot at all.

If not, then you will likely need to use JL Cmder to wipe the BB and reload the OS after you get that pw.
