Take it back the new ones with the green dots on the box do fix the track ball. There is an amazing difference with the new ones comparied to the old ones. And VZW told me they know there is a problem, they said they are shipping the new ones out, they don't have them in the stores.

i just swapped mine to a new green dot one and huge difference in the trackball, mine did not lockup as bad as others but it was very jumpy in websites and slow in emails. now its great.
