Question BBM problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone. I have two Bolds. My wife's is running .411 and she has issues with some of her BBM contacts. She can send messages but cannot receive them. Other contacts work fine.
I've tried adding her contacts to my Bold and they work ok.
I also tried wipping her phone and reinstalling everything but with the same results.
I would appreciate any ideas.

If your wife is on a BES (company server), then the company Admin may have activated the peer-to-peer key feature which essentially prevents your wife's BBM from communicating with other BBM outside the corporate server. If that's the case, then the company Admin would have to deactivate it.

If she's not on a BES, then maybe the contact info is "corrupted". Try removing the contact and adding it back, do not restore from a backup. Also if you do try wiping again, try adding one of the "troublesome" contacts BEFORE you do any restore to see if it will work then. If it works then it could be an issue with your data restore, and you would probably have to manually add back your contacts to work around the "corruption".

That's what I've got so far. Hope it helps or at least gives you some ideas.

Thanks Kirrin. Her phone is on BIS. The only thing I have not tried from your list is wiping and then adding the contact before restoring the contact list. I'll try it tonight and let you know.

OK. I've tried everything Kirrin suggested with no luck.
Any other ideas?

Have you tried having one of the "troublesome" contacts add her instead? (stab in the dark).

When you say wipe, is it an os wipe or a data wipe? If its only a data wipe, try removing the BlackBerry Messenger rebooting the device and then adding installing it again, then try again.

Yes I have tried her contact to add her with no results. My wife does not get anything from that contact.
As for the wipe I did unistalled BBM at first but when it didn't work I used BBSAK and did a complete wipe.
I also tried installing the leaked .554 OS and that didn't work either.
I just don't know what else to try.

Only other thing I can thing of trying is to have the carrier remove her data plan service and put it back (re-initialize it) and see if that helps the issue.
