Emergency calls only usually means you don't have coverage with the mobile provider in the area or they don't support roaming there.

Well it's not accurate because 4.2 exists for the 8700 now.

Please help!

I am trying to upgrage the OS on my 8800 but I never get prompted after the new OS installation.

I am doing everything according to the instructions, the software installs fine but when 8800 is connected there are no any prompts to install the new version. Neither are there any prompts when I start the Desktop Manager.

Desktop Manager itself works just fine, no issues with synch or other issues whatsoever.

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted (BB 8860: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader and then plug in the BB, run desktop manager and try again.

Go to Options >Advanced Options >Applications. Delete BBMessenger from the list.

You'll need to install the latest version of Desktop Manager to your PC. Look in Options >About and find the OS version number 4.2.1.xx. You'll need to install the matching OS software package to your PC as well. Then use Application Loader in Desktop Manager to reinstall the BBMessenger application.

The version you download from the BlackberryHELP website will not work on 4.2 devices.

I have the Sprint 7130e, with Desktop Manger v.4.1.1.9 and downloaded v. 4.2 but I can't get the DM software to open. Does anyone know why? Also, should I download v4.2 with SP2?

If you know anyone with Verizon number just use that phone number. Otherwise you'll need someone to share their number with you.

VZW is getting sneaky now. I tried a VZW blackberry number to download the access manager for a Sierra EVDO card and it wouldn't take it.

Verizon dummy number 9785050000 doesn't work any more - however 9785051000 does. Try substituting the last 4 digits with another number.

Ok, here is my problem hope I can received some advice

I bought a 7520 from eBay, works very good, with the desktop that I have download from the internet(last version) when I tried to run the application loader it tries to communicate and got this message, "the Blackberry desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device that you have connected to the computer
Contact your service provider or system administrator" The version of my bb is 4.10.380. I can backup and download information, also I have made all the step for removing the It policy no problems with that. What else Should I do….?

Thanks
