Default Transferring phone numbers to SIM card

Please Login to Remove!

For 2 years I have been adding phone number to my address book, now up to about 600 of them, to now find out that they were not being added to the SIM card. Is there a simple way to store all of them at one time from address book to SIM card?

No, it's only one at a time.

Also, why would you want them on your SIM card?

I was afraid that would be the case. Why? SIM cards can be transferred from phone to phone and all data goes with it. When a phone breaks, data stored only on the phone is lost for good. Maybe you can answer this for me: can I transfer the phonebook off the phone to my computer; and then transfer it from the computer back onto a new phone?

Absolutely. Use Desktop Manager and backup your data. Contacts, calendar, email, settings, etc.

Do that frequently, that way if your phone does break you can restore it.

Also, you could sync to Google or Outlook and have the data there as well and then you would just need to do the same thing to your new phone. There are plenty of ways of doing this.

Most of the frequent posters here do not recommend the SIM card as the preferred backup source for your contacts, they suggest you sync the BB to a computer and transfer your data there . . . you can then sync a new phone to the same computer and send it all the stored data. Also I've just learned through a similar inquiry that the SIM card only stores one phone number per contact and you can only save them to SIM card one-at-a-time.
