To my knowledge you would need a Windows computer for this updating process.

Hummm.... Something wierd happen and I just want to share it. After I deleted the "Blackberry internet browsing service 2" It was working sweet but I thought I should do a hard reset just to see what would happen. After the reset the internet conection on the browser through BIS stopped working as expected so I went back to the service books and for my surprise there was no "Blackberry internet browsing service 2" but 2 "Blackberry internet browsing service". :O
Not sure what to do I decided to delete one and see what would happen, as I did the browser still wouldnt connect through BIS so I decided deleting the other one left and get new Service Books to replace both. After I got the new service books I decided trying conecting browser through BIS again and guess what... Worked just perfect. Now I check on my service books and I have both "Blackberry internet browsing service" and "Blackberry internet browsing service 2" and its all working good even after many hard resets all works fine.

I hope it helps those with same or similar situation.

Thanks Cybertron for the help

Installed it on my 9700 yesterday. Had a B&W scrren with mostly B&W icons. Deleted the TMobile theme .cod file with BBSAK and rebooted.
Works like a charm. Fast, no lag. Just down to to around 42MB of memory from 68MB

Had the same problem, a battery pull fixed it for me. It hasn't happened since but whether this is a temp fix or permanent is anyone's guess. I would think temp personally though.

As I use more and more of the new browser in 9700OS6 its giving me error that page is too big for this device and it will close the browser. I clean the cache and come back with no issue but then if I go to some image light/heavy website like Engadget.com it will give me same message.
I wonder if this is going to be a major issue for 9700 with OS 6 and RIM will find some solution around it. I am pretty sure 9780 will not have this issue. it could be purely an issue with the buffer cache and could be fixable via software instead of hardware upgrade.

Oh Boy, I love those govt sites where they always offer you "Text only" versions - so you never run out of page

I'd like to see RIM get off their butts and let us install apps to the memory card. I'd have so much more free space if I could.

Agree with you. but so far it looks like RIM has not explore that route while others like NOKIA are just in advance stage of this.

I installed this two days ago, and I mostly like it.

My issues are:
When I am viewing an individual email, If I hit P, it goes to the Next email, and when I hit N, it goes to the previous email! Has anyone else seen this?
Memory leak??? I have gone from 54MB Free to 14MB, after a battery pull. I see 45MB free.

when I leave WiFi, I have to restart my ATT connection in order to send/receive texts, emails, etc. (Thanks to whoever posted the "fix" here)

And, everytime I restart (after a battery pull) and login, I get an uncaught exception, but after I click the OK button, all is well.

That said, I really like this OS, and I can't wait for the next version!

Guys...
Anyone having random issues with volume? Mine on 9700 sometimes works, sometimes dont and I didnt figure it out yet. Volume UP is always working good but DOWN is playing around. It doesnt work on calls or media, doesnt matter. Sometimes a battery pull sort, sometimes dont. I just dont get it. Anyone experiencing something like or had found a way to sort it?
Thanks

Browser seems slower and more buggy than .344. Weird.

I've noticed with this OS and the last one that when you click on the top Ribbon bar to pull up the Manage Connections screen that when you roll the cursor down below the bottom of the screen the cursor disappears and you can no longer select anything until you escape out and go back in again. If you go to Manage Connections using the icon it works fine.

I don't like how sms/mms are all in the same thread. We lose a lot of funtionality/features off the mms bc of this. Any1 know of a way to change it bk like b4?

Options >Device >Device and Status or just use universal search either from Options or from the home screen and type in ”Status”.
