7100t and Call Waiting

Since I bought this phone in October, I can't seem to get call waiting to work properly. No matter which method I use (Hold or drop call) the original line disconnects. I have called support several times, not to mention they sent me a replacement. Is anyone else having this problem? FYI, I always update the phone and desktop software when T-mobile makes it available; and call waiting is enabled on the phone. I can't figure out if this is an issue related to this phone model, or a problem with the T-mobile network. So far, support from T-mobile has been useless in troubleshooting this problem.
