Default Tracks & Sessions Info

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, need your help now guys. My carrier is busy negotiating with RIM (thanks for the tips BertieB) but my company wants more info on the course content. I think they are used to me going to MS events where the sessions are published years in advance and I think the WES site was written by the guys from the DST site.

So, while I realise it is 3 months away and therefore they won't have finalised stuff, do you guys have anything from last year I can use? As with all these events the labs will probably be the biggie for me but as this is our first time there, I need to justify the cost by explaining the content.

And in true EE stylee, the Accepted Answer gets AT LEAST one free beer from the Zod man

Wow, seems like a lifetime ago, but anything for a free beer:

1) An optional lab for the then new BES 4.1 interface.
2) Breakout sessions that dealt with:
A. Mobilizing Helpdesk tasks through the BlackBerry infrastructure
B. Identifying Wireless Opportunities in your Enterprise Environment
C. GPS services for the BlackBerry
D. User Tips for the various BlackBerry devices
E. 3rd party applications for the BlackBerry
F. BES future roadmap
G. Trouble-shooting common BlackBerry device and BES issues
H. Interpreting the BES logs
I. BlackBerry Application planning and development
J. BES Disaster Recovery Options
K. Mobile Administration Options
L. IM For the BlackBerry
M. MDS For BES Administration
N. BlackBerry Connect Options
O. Using the BES Resource Kit
P. DB Management for BES Administrators
Q. Best Practices for managing the BES environment
R. Managing BlackBerry Applications and User Access
S. BES Security
T. BlackBerry Software Deployment

Maybe others can add what else is escaping me at the moment.

Here's what I submitted to management answering the questions of "what will I get out of it?"

• Attend hands-on training and detailed technical presentations that will help drive our Blackberry deployment and support structure.
• Discover and network with the largest concentration of Blackberry solutions partners so I can come back ready to lead our wireless environment to even greater success.
• Acquire networking opportunities with wireless leaders and Blackberry experts, so I can take highly qualified advice back to our company.
• Plan, implement or administer technology systems.
• Develop wireless solutions for our departments.
• Set priorities and plan the lifecycle of a wireless deployment to net the best results.
• Give me greater knowledge to better benefit wireless technology in our company.
• Attend more than 100 breakout sessions with the insight I need into the strategic, technical, management issues of future technologies shaping wireless technology.
• Study technical situations from other Blackberry System Administrators handpicked to share their processes, and successes with Blackberry.
• Participate in hands-on labs where I can road-test the latest Blackberry management features with experts on hand to help.
• Communicate with “The Experts" and get on-the-spot answers that solve our current wireless challenges and plan out our wireless future.
• Develop a strategy for application development and deployment so we are prepared for that event.

I copied & pasted what was on the WES site and modified it to fit our company/agency name.

Good Luck Zod. No European beer necessary, but I'll take a non-alcholic beer and share a serving of stuffed jalapeńos. (The really, REALLY hot ones!)

Cool, mucho thanks to both of you. The session info is now also posted (or I've only just seen the links!) so I think I am getting somewhere. As long as those jalapeńos are stuffed with cheese, I'm there my friend!

I'll be there, this will be my 2nd year at WES. First was 2006 WES. The Gaylord Resort was awesome, I wish it was there again.

Yes, I really do miss the GAYlord Palms Resort. They had the best dam steak at the Old Hickory Steakhouse, but it was a $100.00 steak after all.

Gotta love it when it's all paid by the company.

$100.00 steaks?! Better be REAL good. I'm sure it was.
We'll just have to find something else at this Motel.
