Default BES Sessions on Domino

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone been experiencing multple (like 20 - 25) BES Server Sessions against a Domino Server that won't seem to drop off like the other Domain Servers. When the BES Server connects, it won't drop it's session and just continues to add sessions. I have looked everywhere but, I cannot seem to find any information regarding BES Servers not dropping session connections.

If anyone has any ideas on this, I would appreciate your input.

Thanks.

I defintely see multiple sessions, the more users on the mail server that have BlackBerries, the more connections it seems to have. We're running 6.5.4 on both mail and BES servers.

Cool

Thanks for your reply, Richard. That is true and we, too, are running 6.5.4 on all our Servers. We are finding that it is causing a bog down in our DWA Access the more sessions that the BES Server holds open. I have searched for any information on whether RIM sees this as a problem and has plans to correct it.

I will post info if I find out anything.

It does seem that the number of connections have settled though and we have increased the number of users from a specific mail server, do you really notice a big performance degradation?

Yes, regarding our DWA Access Users. It seems that every server that has BES Connections affects DWA Access Users by prompting them multiple times for Login Passwords. This only started when we implemented our BES. I am not quite sure as to what to do about this but, I am continuing to research the issue.

I'm not sure if it's related, but we change the timeout of DWA access to 6 hours and seem to have gotten rid of all of our problems.

Thanks, Richard. We might try giving that a shot. Currently, we have our DWA Timeout set to 2 Hours but, who knows, maybe it needs that extra timeframe availability.

I will post if I learn anything new or that the timeout change helped.

Thanks again.
