Samething happened to me as well, I ordered the 12th and paid for express shipping and evertime I call it shows pending shipping, today I was told BACK ORDERED, but got credit for express shipping

I talked to another rep on Monday(the 16th) and the rep told me that as of the 16th they placed it on backorder. And that I should at 8 days to my estimated date of arrival of the 23rd. (but tried telling me it IS possible that it could come sooner)

I then tried finding out how much of a shipment they would be getting if - if I would infact get my blackberry with their next shipment coming in - or if again I would be on the backlist - and he would not answer that question.

I tried to demand them to ship via express at no charge when it comes in..but then tries to tell me they cant change how it ships after the order is processed.

I HATE how Tmobile customers have NO way of tracking an order online via tmobile website to find out where its at in the order process...they just tell you to track via reference on ups.com. Yet..when you are a NEW customer they will give you an order number that you can track via tmobile.com It's like you become a customer - and they reward you by giving you crappier service.

I told them I am going to call/chat EVERY day until I find out that it ships. In which he replied he could put in my email into a "follow-ups" on there system and I would be notified when it shipped. (why can't this be a future in ALL cases with out question..we should receive email/text telling us it shipped!!!)

I am VERY displeased that the item is on backorder - as it was possible I was going to resell on ebay - but by the time I get it - there won't be as much of a market...and I could just sell my current 8320 for 150-175 bucks...and end up with a new phone for under 100 bucks.

The fustration is SO ...grr

Anyways - I'll let everyone know the updated dates if there are any if I get any from tmobile(though, everyone could vary depending on where in line you are to receive)
I ordered mine on the 11th at 700 am central time and was told the exact same thing you were! They told me there was no chance of it going into backorder. I talked to someone again yesturday and they still didnt have a date for me!

Default T-Mobile Blackberry 8900 backorder

I just got done on echat with customer service and this is what they told me:

The estimated delivery date will be on the 20th.

To check your order, you can just call UPS (United Parcel Service), which is responsible for the shipping of your phone, at 1-800-742-5877 and refer to order #

I can assure you that T-Mobile will make every effort to ship your device as quickly as possible, and apologize for the slight delay.

I didn't realize you could dial 611 from your handset and say "orders" and you can find out the status. It's F'd though because it says I currently have TWO orders but then proceeds to tell me both orders have the same order number... and then hear the status saying BACK ORDER is just annoying lol. I'm going to call 100 times a day until I hear shipped ..at which point ill be refreshing UPS's tracking to watch the process. I LOVE new phones haha...

Though I did notice they put the charging/usb plug to the RIGHT of the qwerty keyboard... won't that make it harder for typing while it's charging?

I orderd on the 12th as well and today am now told it is on backorder. No ETA on ship date. One rep said 4-8 WEEKS and another said 3-4 more days than usual. I got one rep who upped my minutes though for the inconvenience. Nice gesture that I appreciate though my 8320 is almost dead and I need the new phone.

im wondering if i shouldn't have a least tried to do express shipping. A lot of people seem like they didnt have luck - but it also seems like a lot of people with express shipping got theres. Even heard cases of people ordering friday and receiving Monday.

Here's a really messed up one...
I got out of work 5pm Eastern Time. Headout to a T-Mobile store & at the door they tell me that the 8900 is sold out, if I was looking for that phone. I thanked him (grumbling inside) & called T-Mobile right away.
I placed the order & was happy. I even called my friend to upgrade as well.He ordered it about an hour after I did with express shipping as well.
The next day. We couldn't track our orders & started to worry.
On Friday the 13th my friend gets tracking info on UPS early in the morning, while for me nothing shows up. He received that friday afternoon. Remember he ordered it an hour after I did.
Yesterday, the 16th I find out that my order has been backordered which pisses me off. Knowing that I placed an order before someone an hour before & he gets it in two days and mine gets put on the backorder list.
It makes me wonder, how the hell do they go about processing orders?!? I'm still waiting without any lead time. The lady credited me on the express shipping I originally asked for.
Excuse my french, but its BS on how I got screwed on the 11th. So there's your answer, not everyone with express shipping had luck. I had one of the worst. But then again that's my opinion.

The backorders are determined by area...still no definite date of shipping here.

Yea, it's sort of messed up but I do understand that it is a hot phone. I just don't like being told that it WILL arrive on one day and then being told later, oops, we lied.

That's how I felt, they knew when I placed the order that it was back ordered based on the previous days orders...but didn't think it necessary to say so until the day it was due to arrive. The rep today says is might be like the G1 that was back ordered for like 6 weeks...is it even 6 weeks old?..is the G1 still back ordered?

Most of the reps I talked to today seemed to think it was only going to be a few days. The last rep I got said that it was basically the upgrade warehouse that was out and that shipments are received almost every day from RIM. ::crosses fingers::

yeah...the reps continue to tell me that they are pretty confident I'll receive it by the 23rd - but they are telling people to add a few days onto the expected arrival time due to shipping delays.

I'm hoping they aren't pulling our chains...

I ordered the G1 the day it came out..got it next day..put it on ebay and it sold in 15 seconds..before I even got an email saying that my item was sucessfully listed haha. it was crazy.. I was hoping to possibly do the same with this 8900..but who knows what the ebay market will be by the time i get it...plus i might like it too much haha

dangit i want it now! lol
