Anyone notice a problem with the Media Player with this version? When I upgrade mine the Media Player wouldn't want to go to the next song about 99% of the time.

Media player works well for me using the Bell version. Still kind of pokey, but everything works.

Something perhaps of interest too is that I am able to take screenshots now using JL_CMDR. I wasn't able to do it before. Also, (I think this is related) when I would listen to music, on v. .66, it would skip to the next song if a new message came in and I switched screens to read the message. It doesn't do that anymore. I think this OS also add some new Bluetooth services. At least the list looked longer to me.

I don't know how you guys are getting Media Player to work without any problems. I can battery pull and still nothing. The player will not go to the next song on my 2GB SanDisk card. Not only that, but the ringer volume was slightly worse on this release as well.

I had that same problem where media player would go to the next song whenever I viewed a new message. I would pause my media player after driving in to work. I'd be sitting in a meeting and receive an email, view it, and the media player would start blaring some song. I had to remember to close media player before going into the office. This new version fixed all of the bugs that I found with the .66 version.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

That's great! I'm sure glad I didn't run into that problem! Any other differences that you found? When I first loaded the new os I noticed several things and meant to document them, but forgot to and now I can't remember what they were!

Not really anything else major that I noticed. They changed something with the fonts (in menus maybe?), but I'm not really sure what now (it's been almost 2 weeks!).

It depends on what 'edited blackberry.alx' file you are using. If you want to keep the VZW themes, then simply install the VZW version, then the Bell version and copy the VZW blackberry.alx file to the folder containing the Bell version. And don't forget to delete the vendor.xml file whenever you are loading a version from another carrier than your own.

That should work and enable all the themes in the alx file.

That is not necessary. I only installed the Bell version without any editing and the phone upon upgrade had the VZW theme on it. All the OS versions from all carriers have ALL the carrier themes in them already. BTW, this was also with a phone wipe first (as in javaloader -wipe) so I know there was nothing left on the phone prior to the install of the new OS.

Stereo bluetooth is available on the 4.2.2 OS's. Currently, the 8800 is at 4.2.1.
