Unhappy AOL icon has reverted back to generic

Please Login to Remove!

My little green AOL email icon has changed back to the generic Blackberry email icon and I've tried everything to get it back. Anyone else??

I don't know if that'll work. I have read other users complaining that their Yahoo icon reverted back to the default BIS icon since BIS 3 was released.

I believe only Verizon users are affected, just from what I have noticed going by users' profiles. I could be totally off base on that.

No it doesn't. Initially, If I did a battery pull, it is what caused the aol icon to go generic. But deleting my email and reinstalling it always put it back. Now, however, nothing works including reinstalling 5.0. Could it be something AOL did and has nothing to do with Verizon or Blackberry?

Mine disappeared too. Wondered why, then figured if it was working, who cares? Now I'm obsessing over how to upgrade 18 months early to the 9650 to lose this rollerball.

Mine is gone as well. I didn't even think about it until I noticed others commenting on it.

The general consensus in the Yahoo icon thread was that it had something to do with the recent upgrade of BIS to 3.0 - Try making a subtle change to your account on BIS, i.e. I usually change the leading character of my email name to upper case. That forces an update to the device and the icon usually comes back. I do notice that when I reboot the device the Yahoo icon doesn't always appear so I have to do the little trick described above.

For Yahoo -- resend your service books and the Yahoo icon will come back (for a while)

In my case I find it's easier and quicker to make the subtle change to my Yahoo account as described above. I have 6 email accounts on my BB and if I resend the service books I also have to delete the 6 activation messages as well. Maybe with the next BIS update this won't be necessary any more.
