I really wanted to hold out for an official release from my carrier, but after calling them and speaking with them, I found out they were being douchebags and not releasing OS 5.0 for the 8520.

So I went ahead and upgraded with the unofficial release. I've lost all my contacts and what not. Anyone know how I can get that all back?

I figured it out. I thought trying to access the backup file would downgrade my OS back to v4.6, but now I see it's restored everything. :D

Maybe because your trying to load an OS for a phone you don't have. This is for the 8520, you have a 9630. You might want to try posting in your section.

Default Help

I followed the instructions and it does not do anything. 1. I download the 5.0 and then run it. 2. I find and delete the vendor.xml doc. 3. I plug in, go to the apploader file and double click the loader. It goes through the process. then just looking at it, I see that thr 4.6 is still there.

Help?!

Default Problems with OS 5.0 Upgrade

I own a T-Mobile 8520 with OS 4.6 on it. I am not able to install the update for OS 5.0 on my phone. I have deleted the vendor.xml as described and followed the directions exactly, but when I start the app loader the 5.0 update does not show up. Also when I go to the site to download the 5.0 update, my Software Platform does not appear. My platform is 4.2.0.116. Can anyone help me upgrade to 5.0 if possible. Thanks!

I will repeat Jsanders question, do you have a BlackBerry data plan? Must be a BlackBerry one.

My installation went fine, going from 4.259 to this version on a T-Mobile. I guess we need to re-start/re-configure every app we have.

The biggest test for this upgrade would be to see if the phone will not get confused and stop receiving any traffic when a station I listen in moodio/yourmuze crashes.

Okay, so i went back to 4.2 whatever it is lol, tried 5.0 again, and it the trackpad still didn't work, however it works just fine on 4.2.xxxxxxx lol, so i figured i would try and clean the trackpad with my shirt, and voila! the trackpad works, but only if i use my shirt on it.....? Again, it works just fine on the old version, maybe i should turn the sensitivity way up?
Any help is appreciated! thanks
