I like Rove Mobile File Manager.

It allows me to read my Device Memory, the SDMicro card, FTP sites, WEBDAV sites, and your Windows file shares, directly from your BlackBerry. It even has a built in Text Editor (Notepad) to edit HTML files on a website directly from BlackBerry - so you can create text files. In fact, you could even use Mobile File Manager as a text editor -- it has the ability to create and edit .txt files (or any other text file). You can create a new file, and if it's in local memory, it edits the file in place. Download and upload files, or transfer files between two sites, etc.

I also use Rove Mobile File Manager, It works very well. I kinda like to stay away from the dynoplex stuff as it seems buggy for me. Dynoplex never worked properly on my devices, maybe its just me

Can someone help me setup the Rove File Manager to browse network computers? I'm on the Wifi network and can get OperaMini to browse the internet on my local wifi network, but I can't connect to the share folder on my work computer. My 8320 is getting an IP address on the local network and is responding form the ping. I also setup a share folder on my work computer and is being seen on the network, but I cannot use TCP/IP to connect to it. It is stuck at fetching the folder screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

So If File Manager is free, why does it tell me it will expire in 30 days? Doesn't seem too free that way?

Also, what file types can it read? I just tried to open a .doc and a .pdf that are on my media card, and it says it can't.

What version do you have installed? The newest version is the free one, it should be version 2.5.36. You can download the new free version by pointing your BlackBerry Browser to ota.rovemobile.com .

Mobile File Manager can handle editing text files and viewing image files. It can also be used to move files between your file server and the media card on the device, or email files located on remote file servers.

The BlackBerry cannot natively handle doc or pdf files yet, I'm sure that the OS will support it eventually. When the OS does support word and pdf files, then once you download the files with Mobile File Manager you will be able to open them with the appropriate file handler.

Thanks, that clears up a few of my questions.

I guess I had 2.5.36. I think I did it with the "Web Installer" because I just happened to have my BB attached to my pc.

I am not sure now that this is something that I am going to be needing anyway, but thanks for the info.
