One thing I have noticed that I am wondering about..

The lip for the front that sits underneath the keyboard, it seems to be a darker black than the bezel.. it also seems a bit shinier and smoother.

The lip is shinier and smoother than the Rogers lip which seems to have a very slight matte look to it but works well in 'muting' the shine. I'm not sure why this one is shinier.

The lip also has 2 small scratches on the plastic on the front. Sucks, because it should be me to make the scratches not someone else.

I have held off on installing it, because I am waiting to see if the javelin trackball is drop-in compatible with the bold, because I hate the white one on the bold and it does get stuck, etc. I do have a replacement ball, but c'mon. At this rate I have to replace the ball a few times a year.
The Javelin 'Atomic' trackball is drop in compatible with the Bold.

Just installed my new black bezel and i love it!

i ordered:
black bezel and new side key buttons.

I used a solder iron to melt the tabs. Used tweezers to remove the small parts to transfer over.

very easy and took about 15min.

Stuck to the bezel? No. I don't want to be an alarmist, but that doesn't sound quite right! I assume that everything is working fine, though?

yeah everything is working fine. but the lcd screen was attached to the bezel as opposed to the main board. it was only connected to the main board through that small harness/wire

RE Black Bezel + Black Buttons

got the new black buttons. they look great. however they do not send all the buttons in black. the charging connectors are not part of the package so you are stuck with silver.
The Mute button and the Batter release "button" are also not included.

Too bad because all black is really really cool.

I think the charging connectors would have problems if it were painted black but you're right about the other two.

My question is how do you download this them (zip file) and then how do you upload it onto the device? have you noticed any issues using this theme?

Thanks in advance.

I did it the day after i got my Bold. It was fairly easy and straight forward.

make sure you get extra buttons with the new case. makes it so much easier. I used a solder iron on low to quickly melt the button tabs so its not coming off.

Just watch the video of removal and assembly from cnn and buy the proper tools.

No issues. You need to install it using your DTM after it's been unzipped.

Installed black bezel this morning. Bold is now officially BOLD!!! It reminds me of the Harley Davidson Night Rod.

Well I just installed the new black bezel and I must say it was MUCH easier than I anticipated from all the posts here. No issues whatsoever.
