I'm a newbie so please hang with me for a couple of basic questions: The other day my Blackberry's OS was hung/frozen and wouldn't respond to any key press so I decided to do a cold reboot by removing the battery and put it back in again. Not only did it worked (the OS came back to normal), and to my great joy, none of my data was lost (I had it backed up but still I would lose whatever new data since the last backup). So my questions are:
(1) What I did, is that a "hard reset" I often read in these forums? If not, exactly what is a hard reset?
(2) Since none of my data was lost, where were they stored? Cannot be RAM due to the power. ROM doesn't sound right due to continous new and edited data. Memory card doesn't seem like it either as I can't find my stored data on it.
if you mean your contacts, messages, etc, it's stored in non-volatile RAM inside the phone. if you check Status, the memory shown is the phone's internal memory
