Default Unlock 9700 without data plan ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, i watched a video about unlocking the 9700 and it said that the unlock could (depending on the service provider you are with) failure if you dont have a data plan. I don t want to pay for the code and not work, because i dont want to get a data plan now.

Not all carriers offer unlocking codes. I know many users have difficulties lately getting one from ATT, and I believe Rogers stopped doing so about a year ago.

I'll stand by my statement that a great number of users in the past few months have had difficulties getting free unlock codes from ATT, even if they said they were traveling internationally.

Search around the forums here and elsewhere, and you'll see the same. Besides, ATT is not the only carrier in the world.

The problem is your blanket statement "Get free code from your Carrier and there are no need to get Data Plan for unlock" is not helpful to a user who's asking a totally different question. The poster's question was already answered before you chimed in.

Just so you know up front, it's not the day to ask me to chill.

Perhaps you need to read the OP's question again.

And then think twice about asking me to chill.
