Default Problems with latest OS installation

Please Login to Remove!

I took the plunge and upgraded from the "official" ATT version, mostly because I was tired of dealing with the poor battery life and memory leaks. The creaky BB browser was a pain, too. Anyway, I followed the steps in the sticky to the letter, and thought I saw my third party apps and emails being backed up and re-installed, but when I looked after the OS install, everything was gone, and I mean every 3P app, every email, every contact, every preference, everything.
Are they somewhere in the installation wizard and if so, how do I access these data?
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.

If they were being backed up then they should be on your computer, something probably went wrong during the restoration process.

Search your computer for a .ipd file. That should be your data backup file. You can then use the Desktop Manager to open the file and restore it to your device (using the Advanced option).

Thanks for the advice. I can't seem to locate a *.ipd file in the Blackberry folders. Is there another place I can look?

I would suggest checking your My Documents folder (default I believe) or searching your entire HD for that file extension.

Found it. Now, all I have to do is figure out the way to get that file over to the restore screen on the Desk Manager.

Excellent. Good to hear. Select Backup and Restore from the main screen. Then select Advanced from the resulting screen. Then from the screen presented, select File| Open and then locate the file.

Make sure your device is connected before.
