I've got a few questions from all the guys (and gals) creating these themes. I'm currently running the Dimensions Today Plus theme. I really do like having all the mail previews and calender tasks -- plus having the ability to have the little pop-up bar at the bottom with five more of my popular applications. Makes pretty much everything one click away.

I realize that there is no template for this. Therefore, how was it created? Is it directly coded (not using something like Plazmic) in Java?

Does anyone have any source for something like this?

Just curious! Great themes by everyone!

First of all thanks to everyone making and contributing Themes, I for one really appreciate it. One question, I have noticed that in many of the themes the font seems very small, and if I go to screen options and try to change it or adjust the size, I can't?? Is it becuase the font on the the themes are locked somehow? Or are they using a theme not available on the BB and therefore the BB cannot adjust the size etc?

Default question

I have noticed in every theme that is created the icons on the home screen are on the left. Is there any way that when you create a theme to put the icons on the bottom?

Not yet. Hopefully we can get our hands on the templates for other themes soon. I know there are several people here who want to customize their Today Plus themes!

Default phantom changes

I LOVE the phantom theme - mostly becuaseof the austere front page, the massive color chagne as notifications and the list style menu on the second page (after you hit the menu key) A couple fo changes would make it even better:

1) Blank out the home screen so that a wall paper would show all over instead of just the top.
2) Real battery and signal strenght meters instead of the counter intuitive ones now there
3)Make the notification icons nbiiger when you are not on the home screen.

ANybody seen anything resembling this or know how to make one?

here's a preview of what i started working on a phantom-type theme. you had the same ideas as me. this is with a basic blue bb background. what do you think? i'll probably make it in the black (pictured) and also a white.

*UPDATE*- finished homescreen, working on buttons now, here's the homescreen. blue V at top is battery (left side) and signal indicators (right side), they cycle through the spectrum from blue to red to indicate strength

OK - here's the deal - all you need do is to either:

1] Unzip the OTA and put the files on your favorite web server and go to the .jad file with the blackberry browser

-or-

2] Unzip the DM (Desktop Manager - contains a .alx and a .cod file) and use the DM to install the .alx file. Then go to Options>Themes and select bw_lightning...

Best of luck folks, and thanks for the feedback!

Regards,
Stacey

Count me as one. In addition, I'd be a happy camper if I could just change the colors of the Vodafone theme. IMO, that is the most useful theme out there.
