Hello all,
New BB User here, so please go easy on me.. I have a 9700, brand new, and I just got home, I installed the Google Sync and downloaded all my contacts. When I get a text message the phone number only appears, not the name..
I have v5.0.0.330

There must be a simple fix here...any and all comments will be greatly appreciated.

update:

I can get the name to appear if I have the number in my contact book exactly like this:

15556667777

(no dashes or parenthesis)

I would like to use parenthesis, so how can I get this to work...

What device OS?

Options (wrench icon)>About, 3rd line down. Mine reads:

v5.0.0.405

Hasn't there been a bug for most of the 5.0 OS' out there?
I have the same problem and I have 5.0.0.545... Been having it since I got the phone... So i dont think there's an "Easy Fix" unless you switch all of your contacts' phone numbers to 12223334444 (which looks horrid, by the way... so for us neat freaks, it IS a valid problem )

That bug was addressed in .423. Since then, I have never had that issue. I'm on .545

I just installed version .545 and the problem has been fixed!
