Default Re-installation

Please Login to Remove!

Reinstallation is never considered as a very professional solution in IT Field. But since neither RIM tech support, forums member and myself are able to pin point the BES problem we have with this client since many weeks i have no other choice!!

Then my question is: If we remove and reinstall this BES software. Does i need to first kill all handheld? Can i just reinstall, then do a new "Join" process on each devices? What the best way to do that?

If you are using the same database and service account, there will be no reason to do anything after the installation - however, that method should be considered only an application reinstallation and not a system/environment reinstallation.

If you are going to remove the BES software, start over with a new service account and database, then you'll need to do a security wipe on all of the handhelds and then readd those users and reactivate them.

Since the problem may be caused by the database, i willl remove and reinstall SQL too. Only the service account will be kept as is. Doing do, i will lost the information about the handhelds (PIN number, ...), isn't it? This is why i asked about what to do with the units.
