Ok , unless your all downloading the Iphone app I cannot find any apps on the CNN site for the blackberry.

looked in
Mobile apps
Tools & Extras

everything shows only Iphone.

It may have been pulled from the site if everyone seems to be having issues. Absolutly zero information is on their site now. at least that I can find.

On the site link you gave, it does not have a blackberry link or indicate anywhere it is supported by the Blackberry. I did go to the site from my BB and it reconized it as a BB. I downloaded the App. It also requires settings I do not have on my 9700 browser so I was not able to set it as instructed. I'm not sure exactly what option is causing the problem but mine does not work also. I would think some experimentation is necessary to make this app work. On another note, I was able to access the web site via the standard browser. Im not sure what is offered with the App but maybe until CNN fixes it you may be out of luck.

The only thing I could find was a download for the BlackBerry was a widget that creates an icon on the desktop that takes you to the CNN mobile website.

A Google search did show lots of references to the link posted above, but prefaced with Beta in the URL and those references were dated 2008 and 2009.

There is an app labeled as a CNN Java Mobile Application, but that is noted as only for certain SonyEricsson, Nokia and Samsung phones.

As far as I could see there is no actual CNN App for BlackBerry. Maybe they gave up?

Hi maiden71,

You would not happen to recall how your admin was able to get it to work?

THanks,

Hey Leader.Desslock,

Admin. just installed the 1.42.6 and there was not special settings or anything. We weren't able to locate 1.42.6 version anywhere though..

HI maiden71,

I had a Curve 8530 running OS 5.0.0.x and i believe the CNN app worked. It will not work on my Bold 9650.

Same with the MLB shortcut app. Don't think it's an issue with the apps (which are really just shortcuts to the mobile site). Sounds like the BB OS upgrade fixed this issue? On another note, if one could save browser bookmarks to the desktop, that would work too. Is there a way to do this I'm missing?
