I saw this somewhere else too. It's funny... DataViz get's their foot in the door by including Docs to Go with my OS update, and then slams the door shut by making PDF to Go available only as a "free" add-on to a $70 package that I don't want/need. If they made it available separately for the claimed $29.99 value (yet another similarity to RepliGo Reader), I might have just bought it without looking elsewhere. Instead they drove me look at alternatives, and I found that RepliGo Reader is (probably) the same under the hood, and [b]is]/b] available unbundled for that same $29.99, and is 20% off through Nov. 12.

It is nice being able to save/share Excel 2007 with my BB instead of saving as Excel 2003.
To get around the "download insurance", just upgrade to the full "trial" version BEFORE entering your registration info. I've done that when wiping/reinstalling OS on my BB.

It certainly is nice having .xlsx support. Haven't tinkered around with the .pdf reader much yet.

Sorry if this is a stupid question... but I have been trying to clear some space on my Curve so I was going to get rid of the other languages from Docs To Go..

I am just not sure which language each module refers to..

14704 DocsToGoCommonResource__de.cod - Not sure?
13108 DocsToGoCommonResource__en.cod - I know that's English..
13972 DocsToGoCommonResource__es.cod - Not sure?
14384 DocsToGoCommonResource__fr.cod - French I assume.
13636 DocsToGoCommonResource__it.cod - Not sure Italian?

Thanks.

Be sure to remove the language files for each of the individual DocsToGo apps, too.

I've done two updates, first to 1.002 and then to 1.005, with no need to buy the insurance (so far). The way I interpret it is that the insurance may be required to download something you've already downloaded.

So, you have PDF to Go installed? If so, does it work like the other "to Go" apps in that you can use them to open an attachment without having to save it locally first? I ask because I'm in the trial period for Repligo Reader and the only way I can seem to get it to work is to open the PDF attachment in the native BB PDF viewer, and then I get an option to download it, after which I can open the file in Repligo Reader. With the free "to Go" apps I get the option to use them when I first open the attachment.

Do they give you an .exe to download or is DTG Premium only OTA?

Default For Documents to Go Users

Hi we think this is a unique product, assisting in the convergence of the desktop to the Smartphone, we would like you to try it out and get your opinion.

ExSafe stores Word, Excel, Powerpoint and plain text documents securely in the cloud, providing instant shared access from your BlackBerry, desktop or laptop. Anytime. Anywhere.

Quickly locate and open a document using our intuitive interface, take advantage of our close integration with Documents To Go to make a few edits, save the changes, and you're done! No need to e-mail your changes around - the revised document is instantly available to other users within your organization.

You remain in control of what other uses can do with your documents. By default other users within your organization will have read only access. But just a couple of clicks is all it takes to keep a document or folder safe from prying eyes.

Another powerful feature is that ExSafe keeps a full history of all documents under its control and in just a few clicks you can refer back to a previous version. Our security features allow you to control how this feature can be utilized by other users - you don't necessarily want everyone to see those early drafts of your presentation!

To try it out type the following link in your Browser on Blackberrys with OS 4.5and above and Documents to Go.

Find it on mobihand.com and search for ExSafe

Other free trial visitors will be seen, which is not the case when you subscribe to deploy your own Office in the Cloud.

Thank You

So maybe I am missing something here... I have had PDF support on my BB from day one. I upgraded the Docs to Go like those listed above with the OTA option. Worked great. However, I can no longer open PDF files. It appears that the native PDF reader is no longer being called when attempting to open the file. This is a major problem for me as I get PDF's all day long. Any ideas? Am I the only one that can no longer open PDF's?

Thanks in advance,

Question What's the difference?

What is the advantage of the DTG pdf viewer as opposed to the native bb pdf viewer?

The current native pdf viewer can only be used for an email attachment.

Smile Missed Step?

Did you do the power cycle? The final step to the upgrade is to power cycle the BB, better yet, power down, pull the battery, count to 20, put the battery back in, and that should fix it.

"Error starting Sheets to Go:Class 'com.dataviz.dxtg.common. ProgressCallback' not found.

Any ideas?

11-5-08 : I reloaded the program OTA, and replaced the non working version on my BB. Now it seems to work.

As Steve alluded to, search around for 4.5.077 or 4.5.101 to upgrade your OS and join the club.

When you to your modules to delete the unneeded language profiles, how do you select?

EDIT: Found it

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Yes.
I may need to shell out for the premium to get the pdf. I missed that with Beamberry Free version when it was in beta.
