I had a bb tour before but just bought a bold so that i can use the wifi capability when i travel to other country's, however here i am in Thailand trying to use WIFI and it wont work. im using it on my computer now and im using it on my
HTC incredible, but the whole idea was to be able to use BBM! does anyone know what i can do? please let me know asap! i need my bbm

It should work fine. Do you have your SIM card in the Bold? Doesn't need to be active, but needs to be present so RIM's network can authenticate you.

Are you able to connect to the WiFi network at all?

You need a BB data plan on your Verizon account to get the correct service books. If you didn't have it before you went to Thailand, then no WiFi. No work around AFAIK.

If you did have the data plan, then try using the "hotspot" browser rather than the BB browser.

i have connected to other neyworks its seems WEP is the problem. i do have my sim and i sent service books as well. i will have to get the bb unlocked and get different sim. maybe that will do it. thank you both!

No, that won't work.
You need a SIM with a BlackBerry Data Plan provisioned on it.

On my 9700
I can't even get WIFI to work consistanly at home or in wifi hotspots. I has worked fine before - but I switch OS's all the time - so I can never remember what OS had good Wifi.

5.0.0.862 was good, I believe.

according to his profile he is using a 9630 and not the 9700 so your link will not help him. but it should still work with it, I kow that with some providers you will need to have a blackberry apn added to the account to enable the provisioning to see that it and enable the wifi.
