Angry Problem to put address book on microsoft sync (ford)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a blackberry pearl and i just bought a new ford fusion with the microsoft sync option in it. I am able to pair the 2 devices with bluetooth,
receive call, compose ... But im not able to sync my address book. Every time I try to do it my blackberry return me the message Uncaught.exception.Java.Lang (or something close to that) and I need to pull off the battery ...

I have the latest software version on my blackberry pearl (4.2.1.194) and I already did a total reset of it.

Anyone have an idea of what is the problem ...

I had an issue very simular. Make sure you are not connected when you try to do the address book transfer. If you are connected go into Bluetooth and choose Disconnect. Then highlight the device to send the Address Book to and choose send Address Book. This worked fine for me. If you have an active connection it will fail every time.

Tried it ... isn't working.

The exact message that my blackberry is returning is Uncaughtexception.java.lang.ClassCastException

Any other idea ?

Try a battery pull and do it again w/the recommended approach above...also shut down and "restart" the car software.

Tried it too ... no more success.

As I understand its impossible to "push" the address book from the blackberry to microsoft sync. When you try the blackberry return the message : Transfert failure. See the owner manual of your bluetooth accessorie.

I also tried the two ways : searching sync with the blackberry and searching blackberry with sync.

Another explication ???

I have researched this and when I came to this conclusion, I changed from the 8800 to the 8310. The sofware your using (4.2.1.194) doesn't support the transfer. The BT support you need works with 4.2.2 ... and later OS. I switched phones thinking the A2DP/AVX-fer profile now in the 8310 software would do it all.

Nope! The text messaging feature with Sync is not supported on the Curve.

Good luck, I hope I have told you correctly as I really reasearched it.

Angry Any Answers regarding Sync error?

I have the same problem with My BB 8800 uncaughtexception:Java.lang.ClassCastException on my Ford/MS SYNC system. It must be in my phone because a co-workers phone (Same model) works when he transfers his phonebook. When I try it, I get the error message and am unable to use ANY Bluetooth device on my phone. In order to clear the system, I have to remove battery, reboot, and then delete the SYNC device from my BB. This tells me it must be a software issue/bug in my 8800...anyone have any ideas? Also, I CAN use the sync system without downloading the phonebook! It just appears to be an issue with the phonebook syncronization.
