Default No Device!!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I have a Pearl, and I have PM4.0

When I launch the PocketMac SyncManager, it never shows up.

It is listed in the USB section of Apple System Profiler as a Blackberry device.

In the SyncLog I see:

[08:01:41.137] 2006-10-08
[08:01:41.140] PocketMac SyncManager Started
[08:01:41.322] Blackberry -> /dev/cu.Blackberry
[08:02:18.645] Checking for mounted BlackBerry media cards.
[08:04:10.458] Finished:0
[08:05:43.727] BlackBerry device pin 0
[08:05:47.747] No device connected; unable to complete operation.
[08:05:48.246] Finished:1

But, IT IS CONNECTED!!!!

I get this in my system.log whenever I plug it in:
Oct 8 07:55:20 jupiter kernel[0]: BlackberryUSBDev: Vendor ID = fca, Product ID = 1, Device Release = 106

I also get this in my system console.log when I try to launch PocketCrap SyncManager

is it installed for your user account and does it have admin rights. I have a 7290 and had to enable admin to install it. After that it had no problems running under a normal user

You can't sync with pocketmac because it's crappy software written by a bunch of hacks.

Default How to Fix

After installing PocketMac make sure you repair permissions: Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions.

Works like a charm.

Thumbs down A Pearl PocketMac post?

Maybe we need a specific Pearl forum. As far as I can see most people who have problems with Pearls get answers from people who have another device that work. Eventhough there isn't that much difference, apparently it is enough to not work.

I installed the software and it synced everything OK except for iCAl. It wiped out my entire year, plus it only imported the Home category.

Then it wouldn't see the device anymore, nor would it work on a PC. So I swapped my Pearl for another.

Same thing happened as the first time. I followed almost every advice from this forum but looking back, PocketMac is beta at best, at least with my current configuration, PowerBooK G4 13", 10.3.9 withg a Pearl. It just does not work. I can see a lot of people getting burned here, especially those who don't back up.

Considering how limited it is compared to its PC version, I will wait for a worthy upgrade.
