Hi All

Using the Desktop Manager I transferred the address book from my blackberry to my PC by synchronizing using the ASCII Importer/Exporter application, When I opened the ‘CSV’ file, I noticed that the Zeros in front of all my phones number had disappeared. I did not take notice of this as I thought that maybe this is how it reads it, but after making the necessary updates and transferred the address book back to the Blackberry the Zeros were missing there as well

Can someone advice what I can do, as I having to put them back on the blackberry each time

Could it have something to do with the numbers having the first 0 replaced with a country code
For example in the UK, you'd have (+44)7*********
Apart from that not much you can do. Theres no way to do multiple changes on the device.

Thanks for your input, I am not sure

but I need to retain the Zeros for local UK numbers and in some cases '00' for the dialing the international gateway for numbers that I have for contacts abroad, I just want to know if there's a way to stop the Zero's from being removed

I have the same problem when dialing from the U.S. to italy, it automatically drops the 0 after the 39 country code, although it is necessary for italian calls to go through. The older pearl software cdid not have this issue, so if you have a pearl you could go back...
but now both my curve and newer pearl have it...
by the way, i tried with smart dialing to change the country code to 39, and it still drops the 0 in my case...

if somebody has a solution...

I store all my contact numbers in international format, ie +44 etc., without spaces. This seems to avoid problems when moving the data around, or syncing with Outlook.
