Howdy, I just got my curve today, however I am having trouble setting up my email account. I don't have a data plan hat includes BIS, I have a t-mobile blackberry e-mail add-on and hot spot. I followed the instructions from the booklet that came with the phone, however I get an error "We apologize, there was an error tyring to access the service

Try Again"

If I click on Try Again, it takes me to page called T-zones, I guess to buy music, games, wallpaper etc...

Also, I have tried setting it up through the setup wizard and through set up internet email and I get the same message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must have BIS to set up Push email

do you have the blackberry addon plan? or is it just a data plan? if you have the email addon you should be able to set up through your mytmobile web page.

I believe that is what I have.

what do you show in the top right corner of the device. is it EDGE? and you also might want to update your profile, still shows 8100 with ATT.


if it doesnt show EDGE try a battery pull.
if that doesnt work go into options > advanced options > host routing table > menu > register now.
if that doesnt work log into myT-mobile site, go into the Blackberry Internet site from there, change your device to your current IMEI and PIN, then go to send service books.
after all that, try a battery pull again if its still not working

So, Sith, with the BB email add-on plan, you get the Push email, but no other data services?

basically you dont get the internet and tethering options, but you get BIS access.

My phone is showing WIFI/UMA since it's picking up my wireless router, I disabled it and then I got the EDGE, took out the battery and same error. I also went to mytmobile and here is where I think the problem, I don't see "Blackberry Internet E-mail" setup under Communication Tools. I added my phone to my profile, so that looks good, just not able to setup the email account.

Thanks for everyone's help, I was clicking on Communication Tools which is a tab/link under My T-Mobile account, the blackberry email setup is on the welcome page under Communication Tools and not under Communication Tools tab. Sound confusing but when you log in to your account you will see the following tab/links:

Billing Plan & Services Phone & Accessories Downloads Communication Tools

Don't click on the Communication Tools, you won't find the Blackberry Internet E-mail, it's on the welcome page toward the botton in a box labeled Communication Tools.
