Default Ringtone Shuffler?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone using this program? I have a question about it.

Can you set any shuffling for any other events other than incoming calls?

Say, alarms for example?

WOW, I've wanted this feature ever since I got my original Curve, I can't believe someone made an app for it. It's perfect!! And only 4 bucks. I bought it as soon as I read your thread.

I'd say if you set your alarm ring tone to the "shuffler" tone, as you do for incoming calls, it would probably shuffle too (that's just a guess though, I dunno if their software supports that).

Thanks again for the recommendation, even if it was an accident!

Well...now I bought it. I was hoping I could use it for alarms, and technically you can. Problem is it has a 1meg limit! Arg! That sucks, and they don't mention it anywhere

That means no mp3's can be used.

Sorry Mark, I was assuming you had the program, didn't realize you needed a tester. But hopefully I can still help..

ALL of my ringtones are mp3 format. If you're using just full mp3's as a ringtone, that's your problem. You just need to crop the parts of the song you want as your ringtone. I crop LARGE portions of the song, in the event that I let it ring all the way through and go to voicemail (don't want the song repeating itself) and am always WELL under 1MB, with no loss in quality at all.

There's a very simple program called wavepad (it used to be freeware, but some sites make you pay for it now, do a little digging and you should be able to find a free version) that makes this very simple. You select the beginning and ending of the portion of the song you want to use as a ringtone, cut it, start a new project, paste, and save the flie as an mp3 (I always choose the highest quality options here). That way you still get to use whatever ringtones you want, in mp3 format and be well under the 1MB limit.

To the other poster, check out this link (it will be worth anyone's time to click, even if you're not interested in the software :p):

Let me google that for you

PM me if you all have any questions, as I forget to check back on threads often!!

I guess I should have mentioned what I wanted to use it for.

I was hoping to set my alarm to play random mp3's to wake me up in the morning.

I must be getting old, I can't see the point of randomizing my ring tones. I set up all my ringtones so that I could tell who is calling...

... but with a random ringtone, I can now surprise myself?

(my reply isn't intended to be smart-alecky, I just don't see the point -- is it just for variety?).

As I stated above, I don't want it for ringtones, I wanted it for the alarm tone.

I've been trying to find a way to use a playlist as an alarm ringtone.

So yes, to surprise me when I wake up as opposed to hearing the same ringtone every morning.

Mark, my question wasn't directed at you, even though you are the OP for the thread. I can understand the want for randomizing an alarm tone, I tend to sleep through familiar sounding alarms myself.

It was the application itself, which seems to be something desired by many, which I couldn't understand.
