hi

new on here so be patient with me.

i just been given a 8900 curve of my brother, it was on orange,
i have unlocked it.

i now want to use it on my 3 contract but it just comes up on screen with red sos in the top right corner where the signal meter is?

i have tried a number of sims(o2, tmobile, virgin) all appear to work ok, carrier name comes up on screen etc, but when you make a call it comes up with the message "call failure".
also it wont send sms.

any help would be much apprecaited

might need a new sim from your carrier.

Are you sure that it is unlocked? Does the SIM work in another device ?

Ive always read, (different places, don't remember where) that unlocking any phone (not from 3) to use on 3 isn't guaranteed. I'm not sure why 3 is different, I only know that when unlocked, some phones just refuse to accept 3 SIM cards.
