You and a whole bunch of us! Its really unusual for a new beta release (426) to have been out for so long without having shown up "in the wild" for download. Not sure why this one in particular isn't showing up, but its definitely frustrating! If 426 had shown up, we wouldn't all be thinking there's been so long between releases. Wonder if we'll ever see it, or if we'll have to wait for the next one. Very strange...

Also .337 is an official release.
Whether an OS is official or not, to my understanding, has nothing to do with whether you can use the OTA method. I believe it has more to do with who your carrier is.

Beta or official, it sure has been a long time since we have had a new OS to play with.

anyone else having any problems or is it possible i have a lemon? the battery life is still pretty horrid (approx. 12 hours with LIGHT usage before down to 20%).
I've had some problems with the browser freezing up which requires a soft reset and I also have echoing during phone calls ONLY if they call from an actual land line phone (which very well could be the network in my area or the land line company- who knows).

Overall I'm starting to lose interest in the BB. I wish I could get my hands on an Android based phone and try it out in my everyday life.

I got some "white screen of death" I suppose you could call it. I took my phone out of the holster and it said "App Error 603" (at least I think that was the number)... did a battery pull started over.

Why get an OS update if they could just build it right the first time!

No smartphone is perfect. For instance, while Google regularly releases updates to Android, most carriers choose not to adopt them. Hence a lot of Androids are severely out of date.

Updates are needed for all these devices. People underestimate the fact that what they are now running on their smartphones is more powerful and more complicated than desktop computers were some 8-10 years ago.

Well, I'm moving to a Hybrid OS due to lack of updates. I have heard that there are significant improvements to battery life with some of the new packages that come with the Hybird OS, hopefully other fixes. For anyone curious see Hybrid OS info here.

By the way, and totally off topic, but your forum is having issues...no login box and when login is done screen just goes back to a blank login form!? Just an FYI

I understand that but were all posting on a forum that would be on the more advance side of things. Comparing me and you to Android users that don't even plan on updating the phone or installing different ROMs, isn't an apples to apples comparison.

I know no smartphone is perfect. I know even the nonsmart phones aren't perfect haha.

On RIM's website for ATT BOLD 9800 it says:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Software For BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.695 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 6.0.0.695
Consisting of:
Applications: 6.0.0.246
Software Platform: 6.4.0.105
File name: 9800M_PBr6.0.0_rel695_PL6.4.0.105_A6.0.0.246_AT_am p_T.exe
File size: 161.7MB
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm a bit confused as to what version this is - is it .695 or is it .246? I'd imagine if it was .695 that you guys would be all over it - but idk...

Also - is there a list of things that can be "shrunk" or deleted from the OS to get it a little smaller before install? I have a new 9800 and I'd really like it to not be slow and bloated. Thx.
