I've got a problem with my Blackberry Torch (9800), I've checked some previous posts but its not something I've seen anyone mention before.

So basically, I'm having a wonderful variety of problems. I'll start with the most irritating and work my way down.

The phone keeps freezing and then turning itself off when I can't get working again. I've not noticed it doing it at regular intervals or when I'm doing something specific on my phone. It just flips out and then dies on me and goes to the reboot screen.

Other problems...the touchscreen for some unknown reason will stop working so I have to resort to using the trackpad which will then also fail and nothing will work. I can click the icon I am on but I can't move it so I have to do a battery pull in order to get it back in working order again.

Lastly I can't connect to Blackberry Desktop manager. Meaning I can't back up data or update my software. I updated the phone last week, maybe the week before but I'm not sure which update I'm on.

All in all this is making my phone completely unusable, any ideas?

P.S Oh and the phone randomly disconnects from Blackberry Internet Services for no reason when I am walking about/on a bus in central London.

Go to Options -> Device -> About Device Versions you will see something like:
6.0 Bundle 2921 (v6.0.0.666, Platform 6.6.0241)

Let us know what that says, these may be know issues for the version you're running though I've not heard of these symptoms before.

Have you tried a battery pull?

Did you drop it or get it wet?

Are the problems happening when you are inside a building?

Are you in an area with a strong 3G signal?

What did you do just before this happened - just updated the OS?

I'm currently using v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236

I've tried multiple battery pulls and now it won't even turn back on haha...

I've not dropped it or got it wet (that I know of), the problems appear to be happening everywhere, I have 3G constantly or GPRS/EDGE and before it happened I was just like...texting people and stuff, then went to bed, woke up this morning and I'm having issues. They seem to have come out of nowhere.

From your post, I assume that DM doesn't recognize the device?

Plug in to a powered USB port on your computer, not via a HUB. Leave it connected fro an hour or two and then remove the battery for 30 seconds and replace. Does it reboot?
