I don't know if this existed before I upgraded to .450 or not (while I'm going thru this thread to see if any of my wishes here are reflected in this particular upgrade), but I found that if on the manual keyboard you hold down the alt key and then press the shift key, you get alt locks. Still trying to figure out if there is caps lock with the manual keyboard -- anyone?

Hopefully, please, this feature can be added in in a future OS upgrade?!

Opes, found it:

If on the manual keyboard you hold down the alt key and press the LEFT shift key, you get alt lock (for #'s and symbols). If you hold down the alt and press the RIGHT shift key, you get CAPS lock. Did I just miss that on .246 or was this part of the .450 upgrade??

More accessible battery level display. selecting the top and then scrolling down to options and then checking device is absurd.

It would also be nice to have a nice battery breakdown to show where your juice is going.

I don't know about 'more', but Left_Alt+Left_Shift+H at the same time brings up the status display..

none of that shows what is actually running and consuming power. like Weatherbug and Facebook poll all the time, and so consume power. is it too much? on my 9000 it was.. I don't run them on my Torch.

I haven't seen ANY tool on ANY phone (or laptop, netbook, etc for that matter) that can display that kind of info

Sam

If you go into

Options>Device>Applications Management, if you swipe the screen, there are additional pages...nothing with battery usage, but there is one with CPU usage per app.

Took me a while to work out what you mean. I didn't think to swipe sideways!

This is a a really major advance for users trying to work out what their phone is doing, thanks for this tip.

I'd like the L shortcut back for the browser, to display the URL of the link the cursor is on.

Column mode in the browser was handy, despite it making a mess of lots of websites. At least you could be sure you saw it all. The new zoom and rearrange thingy is quite good, but you know there's more stuff out to the sides, and you have to scroll to see what it is.

I wouldn't mind being able to rotate the screen while the keyboard is out, despite that not making sense if you want to type something. The extra width is good for reading webpages and emails, and I'm sick of sliding the keyboard in and out to do it.

I repeat others' request for a better locking system. I've resorted to pressing K on the keyboard (like on the Bold, etc), but it's only available if you enable the password, and I'm getting sick of typing the password in.

And I forgot about shortcuts to go to the top and the bottom of a webpage. T and B work fine as with previous models if the keyboard is out. But what do you do if it isn't?

I've just been told that if I click and hold a link, I get an option to do the things L did, like send the link, etc. Still can't actually see it, but better than nothing.

I really like the tabbed web browsing on the OS6 browser. I'd really like it if there was an option to allow me to open a link in a new tab but keep the current tab active.

When I'm researching something on a PC, I tend to use Firefox to open up a dozen or so likely Google results in new tabs, which all load in the background. Once they're loaded, I just click on each one, closing those that turn out to be irrelevant.

I can now do research on the Blackberry much more efficiently than the old way - opening links then returning to Google really sucked. But having new tabs load in the background would be a seemingly simple feature that would make it even better.

I suppose it would be too much to ask for grouped hierarchical tabs like the Tab Kit Firefox plugin.

Ability to set a default reminder for Tasks - so you don't have to configure one for each task created.

Ability to specify the snooze interval on Tasks and Calendars as the pop up. Something similar to Outlook - so you can change them as they pop up.

Ability to flag messages from certain contacts in a different color in your inbox - or integrate the feature in Outlook (on BES) so it carries over to your blackberry.

Lastly - and this requires hardware too - I think it would be cool if there was a built in thermometer so you could tell the ambient temperature - I know there are weather apps - but it would be cool to see how warm it is in the car or how cool it is in the server room, etc.

Thanks.

There are a number of apps to do this. The best I've found is called Email Edit - 99 cents at AppWorld.

Can we please have the "UP" label back on the charger plug? I felt grateful for it every single time I plugged it into the phone, but now it's gone, and I have to examine the plug to make sure it's the right way up.

I guess I could just put a dot of white-out on it.
