I had the same issue. I'm running Windows 7 on the home desktop. The first two install attempts-nada. Finally I typed "vendor.xml" in the search window. This brought up the one hidden vendor.xml file, deleted the file & the OS installed flawlessly.

I guess the issue with my installation has to do with the fact that I am using 64-bit windows 7 not a windows 7 issue per se. The standard instructions at the top of this post are not applicable to 64-bit windows users. Siimply go to the Program Files (x86) folder and proceed the same as for any other windows installation. I found the instructions regardng compatibility mode and going to the Program Files directory confusing and ultimately ignored them.

downloaded and installed this yesterday - so far, so good. Loving it. I was having a ton of bluetooth drops before, several times a day. None since this install...Time will tell, however!

Uh, no its not. It certainly includes English in addition to Asian languages. I don't believe RIM ever releases "Asian only" without English.
