BES Domino 4.0 SP2

BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Lotus Domino
BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.0 SP2 for Lotus Domino
Posting to Partnerzone, BlackBerry.com, and ESD: July 4, 2005
- One key issue addressed in this release is one that has recently been identified with regards to user notifications on unprocessed email. Under certain circumstances, when the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Domino is unable to process a given message for a user, the user is sent a notification. Recently, there have been a number of situations where users are sent a large number of these notifications. In SP2, a throttling mechanism has been added to the server to limit the volume of these messages. As well, a control mechanism (via the Registry) is available for the Administrator to control the volume of messages, including eliminating them altogether.

Yes, my RIM people from Cingular told me the same thing, that 6/24 was the scheduled delivery date. Where did you see the 6/24 from?

Our RIM reps for Cingular are supposed to post it up on an internal FTP site for us when they get it, but if you think about it's already June 29th, how much sooner could they post it up?

Just talked with our RIM reps from Cingular, looks like SP2 got pushed back to July 4th. Let's hope for the best.

Yes, getting it from the website and getting it directly from the RIM reps is on a different schedule. We've been applying a "lot" of pressure about the APB's and our rep said they would get us SP2 as soon as they had it.

I see they released SP2 for Exchange today, 7/28, so hopefully LN is still on track for next week? Anyone have an update?

I spoke to RIM TSupport about this issue a few weeks back and there is a registry key that you can delete that will stop BES from sending these "unable to process a message" email notification to the handhelds.
The side affect to deleting this registry key is that it also disables the entire APB notification system. So if you want to send an APB you have to reenable the registry key reboot the BES box and then send out the notification....

Yes...I just applied that reg hack and actually one of our users got 50 something of those msgs again at 1:30am last night. So not sur eif it worked for us...But I did do a restart on the server a little while ago so we will see if he receives them again tonight....I have saw other threads recently that it actually worked for others.

It definitely wasn't fixed in HF3 and the reg hack seems to be working unless you start a sync of your address book or journal.
