How does this new release seem on memory management? (Any better)

I think that is more of an isolate incident and not a problem with the OS

I think some people are saying they get a small memory boost, but I can't confirm it.

I didn't lose any themes or apps. If you use dm and do the app loader, it will restore your themes and apps. If you use jl_cmdr and wipe and load the os from scratch, you will lose your aftermarket themes and apps and will have to load again from backup or from scratch.

Just loaded .119, will follow up if I notice any changes from .97. (My speakerblast disappeard with .97)

A couple of glitches during the install. Restored from backup. Working fine so far. Speaker blast that I had with .97 seems to have been resolved now. Browser does seem a bit faster.

Phone seems to be running slightly faster. Not really too noticeable though. Unfortunately, speaker blast is back for me and I forgot how annoying it is. The browser doesn't really seem much faster than it did in .97. The only noticeably different thing for me at the the moment is that all of a sudden I have HTML on my BES account (which I didn't have before). I know that my BES guys recently did an upgrade though, so that may have something to do with it.

In all honesty, I am probably going back to .97 so that I can get rid of this stupid speaker blast. I will wait patiently for .127 to surface and see if that is any better.

Hmmm, maybe the speaker blast issue is device or carrier specific? It first surfaced for me when I 'upgraded' to (.77). In any case, still waiting for the next 'beta' since this one appears to be working well with no problems noted (so far).

I loaded last night and my charge went from 100% at 6am to 25% right now. I was on a plane for two hours and I thought I turned off the radio, but maybe I didn't and it spent two hours looking for the network. I guess that would kill the battery pretty fast.

Update: battery life is just fine. Must have been due to searching for a network for two hours on the plane that killed it yesterday after I upgraded to .119. Browser seems a bit faster, OS navigation seems about the same, no faster, no slower. Still no speaker blast, that disappeared for me on .97.

I think it was isolated - but its never happened to me before. I blame it more on the new Desktop Manager 4.7 than the OS upgrade itself.

I upgraded this morning - My take on it:

- Browser "requests" MUCH shorter amount of time when you launch a web page. Pages loads very quickly. .97 stunk in that regard for me.

- Data connectivity comes back after a phone call more quickly. With .97 I would sometimes get frustrated and actually turn the radio off then back on.

- Battery life seems unaffected

- Memory improvement. I have been about 39000000 file free after a battery pull and now it is about 45000000.

- SPEAKER BLAST - Still trying to see. I am pretty sure it is better, and maybe gone. I have't talked on the phone much today and only received three or four calls. One easy way I tell is answer while I'm looking at the screen. The speakerphone icon actually lit up briefly before changing to handset or bluetooth on .97. Also, on .97 for me, when I was using bluetooth, the blast was worse if I answered at the handset instead of via the headset.

Only problem I have is Today themes aren't showing calander events on home page. Yes I reinstalled the themes. Other than that it runs much smoother than 4.5.0.89.

Default VZW Input

It works much better then .97 on my VZW; I had an issue where my gmail messages wouldn't configure replies properly and this resolved the issue.

The browser is faster.

Didn't lose theme or 3rd party apps... I did have to (re)accept terms for some apps but not an inconvenience.

There are reports in the thread on crackberry.com that the speakerphone blast is still a part of the package. Rats!

This speakerphone blast bug doesn't seem to be consistent. Some users haven't had it since .89, some, like myself, haven't had it since .97, and others are still saying it's there on .119. Hopefully RIM will get this fixed for all users.

Some counts of increased memory and a snappier device, seems like a viable update. I'll probably give a whirl this weekend.

Upgraded this morning, everything went normal and got a really nice boost in memory, back up to 45 MB of free space after a battery pull!!

(DM just wants to update 4.5 core application now :( everytime I plug it in.)

I no longer have the option to preview or download wav attachments in my emails (transcribed voicemails) - when I open the attachment it immediately saves to /ringtones on my SD card. Unless deleted, the next time I try to open an attachment I get a rename/overwrite option.
