Firstly, apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.

Ok, I got my Blackberry Bold 9700 a week ago on Saturday (9th January) and today I noticed that my trackpad button in one corner has slightly 'dropped'.

As a result, whenever I scroll my thumb across the trackpad, it is extremely sensitive and the Blackberry is assuming that I am pressing the trackpad button in and therefore it opens an application, e-mails, text messages etc. (whatever is highlighted).

Is this a common problem? What causes this to happen?

I assume there's no quick-fix solution that I can perform myself, and I fully expect it to be packed up and sent away for repair. Although I'll be making a point for a replacement model as my phone is not even two weeks old!

Although I can't say if this is a common problem (never heard of it myself) but the trackpack is poorly built in my opinion. Mine is less than a month old and not only is it wiggly, it even makes scratchy/popping noises when I scroll down! I can't decide if I want to send it in for repair and have them potentially give me a refurbished one (mine is < month old!) or just let it be.
