antnine, it works for all apps. BB Messenger, Yahoo, Mails, etc. As mentioned to you, have to t/shoot your device. I'm running fine on WiFi, connected to BIS via WiFi.

As weileong put-up, we've got a good 7 peeps out there on our 'BETA' Malaysia Blackberry BOLD Community:-

Perhaps we can start discussing a TT session? Hehehe... meet-ups are good to get us aquanted with each other and share thoughts and concerns or even tips. Oh yeah, discuss stuff like accesories purchasing, etc. It'll be great... :D All ya'll in this post, keep it coming... let's flood this Community...

From the looks of it, I second ikurtmal's nomination for azrizal to take the lead, but I am swaying to weileong as well... he's keeping tabs on this forum daily... hehehe... How weileong, up for it?

as usual...the customer service some of them suck...proclaim to be blackberry technician but don't even understand my question. Even keep insisting that BIS service will incur data charges even though you have wifi connection, BIS will always be connected to mobile network even though with WIFI presence. And I told them that you guys connected to BIS with wifi even after off mobile network...he say that is impossible...In the end i force them to give me a brand new set and I'm taking it tomorrow...

antnine,

understand your frustration. Maxis or even Celcom cust svc are really hopeless. They don't know nuts! They have that arrogance sometimes that they know more than you, w/out actually using the phone 24/7. They may have limited training and they know only what's been told to them. But that's NO EXCUSE!!! They should at the very least make the effort to understand the problems we're facing 1st, digest it, fiddle around with the phone and whats better, have a test unit with them to test out an apple to apple scenario. Even though it may have a different OS, but heck 90% of the MAIN FEATURES should be working.

At least you got them to issue you a new set. Kudos! Start fresh & let's hope you or anyone else don't have to go back and return sets. It gets frustrating and reduces the time with your precious... hehehe...

Then again, I would like to stress the importance of our little Malaysia BB Community. We speed this-up get to know eachother and when there are problems like this, we can help eachother out by turning-up in number's. Noted that some may be busy and working as such, but if you're going to say a Maxis Center in KLCC or KL area, I might be available to tag along. We can show them that one set has no such problems than the other. Please solve this Mr/Ms Maxis/Celcom. Else GIVE US A NEW SET!!!

In a way, we can be perceived as re-educating them at some of the probs we have. We gather as much issues or concerns and we can forward these concerns to the product team of respective carriers. We could perhaps engage in dialogue with them. A bit ambitious, but that's what the community can be. We can come to the aid of most of the masses that don't even know this forum exists. :D

gfunk11,

Thanks for the feedback on my reply. :D In my opinion, the maxis centre is hiring pure rubbish. I would be alright with them if their knowledge is not deep on the blackberry. But it pissed me off when they start to be rude. Saying things like "I'm the technician and to me your phone got no problem" or "What you tell me about your friends blackberry is impossible to happen. There is no such thing. I'm confirm it will be connected to mobile network all the time".

Haha...gfunk11, telling me the scenario about helping our our members by turning up in Maxis centre in KLCC reminds me the first time I met Zach-MY and how he helped me in Gardens. I must thank him again for that.

Engaging a formal dialogue with them require a big setting up and also need preparation and proposal to them isn't it? Haha...that would be something big. But it seems like this forum is a bit quiet. The level of replies seems to be 3-4 in a single day. Whereas while I was in my Omnia forum. A day could accumulate 1 page of replies. Haha, I might understand some are working. May be we can collect more people in, both working and studying. :D

This thread here is so much friendlier than the one in MyPDACafe.com blackberry bold discussion. In that thread I was humiliated and being treated like a jerk for contributing as a newbie from a "VETERAN" forumer. May be you guys should go have a look at the thing. Give you guys the URL. Those who are interested can have a look. My nickname is still antnine in that forum. Just browse all the way down and look out for my posting. Check my post and read on from there to see what happened. The debate should start at page 17 and end at page 21. The link directs to page 17 straight away. I swear I will never ever go back to that forum.
