It is the same exact thing as the Bell release.

I installed this one after reading about another person's experience with the Sweden version vs Bell. They claim it takes up less space on their Bold. I did the same thing and had the same experience. Performance wise it's the same, but it does have a smaller footprint (for me).

Agree with this - the Bell version gave me 14MB after a reboot, this is at 21MB and appears to have much less memory leak.
Much better than the Bell version on my Bold regardless of claims it is exactly the same...

Thumbs up Much better memory management

Memory increase is definitely a big plus with this OS. I compared file sizes from Bell (118MB) vs Sweden (116MB). Though the platform and app version are identical, there is certainly some major difference with these two OS's.

I get way less memory leakage with the Swedish one and my battery life seems better. I'm not convinced (and I'm with Bell as a provider). I'm sticking with the Swede version until something better comes along.

Default Asian Fonts?

Does this version (Multilanguage) from Sweden support Asian fonts?

NJ, I know that you folks are veterans on this forum and may have details that I may not be privy to. However, the OS since loading, shows a marked improvement over Bell version. Battery life with same battery and same number of applications running (and BES encryption) has increased from 13 hours to over 26 hours without charging. End-to-end fully charged to fully discharged (auto radio off).

Maybe if you or others including JSanders can give it a whirl and see for yourself. Something is better about this OS, I can tell.

Trying to load this to my BB9000 I got a App Error 205, trying to do whats advised in crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry to recover (can't post links at the mo, oops) to recover it, but it seems to be uber slow, sitting on Loading Application Modules for a long time.

Anyone had a similar problem?

seems it to do with trying to run Desktop Manager/Loader.exe on a Win7Pro 64 bit install, as going back to a WinXP 32bit machine worked fine.

is there a trick to using DM on a 64 bit win7 machine?

You don't need to use DM at all, just the loader.exe file as explained in ALL of Latest OS upgrade threads in this forum.

I'm running DM on three Win 7 64 bit machines. No issues whatsoever.

I know, that is the procedure I followed.

on my 64 bit win 7 machine it failed (stuck on loading random .cod files, left for hours, definitely stuck) on moving to a 32bit windows xp machine the install using the exact same method worked fine and fast.

I tried turning off USB power down for all USB root controllers as recommended in another thread, but that did not help.

I believe that even though I am using loader.exe it needs and hence uses some parts of the desktop manager software, and the DM software doesn't seem to connect to the device (even now, with a fully working BB)

Desktop Manager is 5.0.1.28, upon connecting the Blackberry to the machine with the DM running, it does not see it - stays on "device connected - none"

I have used desktop manager for all my dozen or so OS upgrades on my bold, except for one. The one time I used loader.exe, I had to ask our IT guy for a password to get authorized on the BES. A coincidence?
I have never had a problem using desktop manager.

You have DM configured to connect to your BES which is why it reactivates you when you upgrade your device via DM. Upgrading a device breaks the connection to BES. There's no coincidence.
