Please Login to Remove!

I've just loaded this software...it works great. Here's what I did (thanks to earlier posts!). Sorry its a bit long-winded;

My basic settings are:
BES (running new-ish SW but I forget the version)
Network is vodafone NZ
Device is 8700v running 4.1.0.258
APN is blank as is the username and password
I have all the standard BB modules loaded (tasks and memo etc)
[if there are any other settings you want, then send a post]

1. Loaded the SW. I got the latest version, which I think is 1.2.2. I got it OTA from tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=bbcota

2. Powered down the device and then removed the battery for 30s. Replaced the battery and the BB powers up (takes around a minute of slowly spinning hourglass)

3. At this point the application is now visible on the top menu.

4. Opened the application and set the following:

BBcorrector Server URL: this is left blank
Username and Password are left blank
Language is set to "en"
Disable MDS proxy is left unchecked because I'm on BES
Use Google Spell Checker is checked
Autoadvance is checked

5. Time to test the function....go into compose email and make some deliberate errors. Click the menu and the very top item should be "Spelling"...click it...then....

6. The first time I used it I got a message (I think related to the fact that we use a proxy server) asking me if I was happy to allow/disallow HTTPS connections to google/anywhere. You will need to set this to suit your own settings, but I suggest that you at least set it to "allow all HTTPS connections to google"...if you dont, then it definitely wont work! You should only ever have to do this once.

7. It then goes off to google and thinks for a bit (you will see the network access arrows) and then comes back with some suggested corrections...scroll down to select your choices.

This is a great application and many thanks to the developer and also the many previous posts that allowed me to set it up. The likely causes of problems (I guess) are going to be around your web access setting and if you run through a proxy server (only BES), then this might need some discussion with whomever looks after your corporate IT. I think that if you can run 3rd party applications like the Opera web browser (the best!), then it should work fine as listed above.

Good luck!

Default BBCorrector Error: Permission Denied

I get the above error when using it for email, but it works fine for Memo? I have BES, 8700c, 4.1. Any ideas?
I was able to resolve this by going to the firewall settings and resetting it.

Default Just installed BBCorrect and having some errors

I've just loaded this software...it looks like it will be great if I can get it going. Here's what I did

My basic settings are:
BES (Not sure of SW version)
Network is SaskTel (Bell Mobility Partner)
Device is 8703v running 4.1.0.352
Not sure what APN is

1. Loaded the SW. I got the latest version, which I think is 1.2.2. I got it OTA from tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=bbcota

2. Powered down the device and then removed the battery for 30s. Replaced the battery and the BB powers up (takes around a minute of slowly spinning hourglass)

3. At this point the application is now visible on the top menu.

4. Opened the application and set the following:

BBcorrector Server URL: this is left blank
Username and Password are left blank
Language is set to "en"
Disable MDS proxy is left unchecked because I'm on BES
Use Google Spell Checker is checked
Autoadvance is checked

6. The first time I used it I got a message asking me if I was happy to allow/disallow HTTPS connections to google/anywhere.

7. Started getting IPPP Error... Looked in Service book and there is one IPPP for BIBS...

8. Tried changing to have MDS checked... Looked like it was checking but started to get Bad DNS address... I've read over the thread a few times and most people who have the IPPP error seemed to have fixed it with the MDS settings but I con't seem to find someone going through the settings for a BES configuration with the noted errors...

This looks to be a great application and many thanks to the developer.

Thanks

Is there an update to this concerning Sprint? I have tried this product and followed all of the guidelines, but still have no luck. I still receive: BBCorrector Error: Failed to transmit. I am not able to set the tcp because it is a Sprint phone. My OS is 4.1.0.359

I have also granted all permissions for the application.

Thanks.

I can confirm Spamdumpster's remark's from post #287. I too was getting the "java.lang error" after upgrading to O2 system software. Before I upgraded, BBCorrector worked fine on tmobile system software and I had memopad and tasks loaded. After the upgrade I would get the "java.lang error" on every reboot and the BBCorrector never appeared in the menu. I took Spamdumpster's advice and looked to see if memopad and tasks had not been loaded when I upgraded the OS. Sure enough, they had not. I installed them and no longer get the error and the "Spelling" menu item has reappeared.

SO YOU MUST HAVE MEMOPAD AND TASKS ON YOUR DEVICE FOR BBCORRECTOR TO WORK. Good observation Spamdumpster!!!!
Thanks, I love you man, works great, love to you too Spamdumpster!!! lol

oh happy days. I was going crazy until I stepped away for a few minutes and then realized I downloaded the wrong version. I had V1.0 from blackberrytools instead of the updated version from tateu.net.

I thought it was ineffective at first because it didn't pick up "inhere" as needing to be "in here". It turns out it is a word, guess I'll have to use it in scrabble.

Anyway, it seems to be working fine.

I got the same error when I has "En" in the language, but when I changed it to "en" it worked.

Default BBCorrector Down?

Have been trying with BBConnector but it prompted "BBCorrector Error: HTTP response code: 404."

tried http://nexstanz.com/bb/server.php (basic), https://cpanel1.netwisp.com/~nexstanz/bb/server.php (secure and I signed up my own account) and http://rebreathertech.com:81/cgi-bin...ctorServer.cgi

No success so far. I had been using it without problem. Prompted the error since this week.

Also, http://bb.nexstanz.com is not accessible

Are they all down?
