1. Hate fighting for my family to live through another day
2. Hate the sounds of jets, guns, bombs, and tanks at night when my baby is trying to sleep.
3. Hate having to eat dead animals and sand for dinner.
4. Hate not having water to drink.
5. Hate waking up to one less family member.

Now ours.
1. Hate having to wait in line at McDonalds for my breakfast.
2. Hate it when my a/c goes out in my house.
3. Hate when my car wont start so I have to take the truck to work.
4. Hate it when my BlackBerry freezes up and I have to do a battery pull.
5. Hate it when I have to get up and go to school and waist 8 to 9 hours of my life so I can get a better education so I can maybe be someone that will turn this world around and help people in need.

Next time you (anyone) hate doing something just set back and think... It could be worse. Think about the people out there risking lives so we can complain about all the little things we have to do each day.

Thats my rant. Thank you for reading.

I Pledge Allegiance

I Promise to be faithful and true (Promise my loyalty)

to the flag

to the emblem that stands for and represents

of the United States

all 50 states, each of them individual, and individually represented on the flag
of America yet formed into a UNION of one Nation.

and to the Republic

And I also pledge my loyalty to the Government that is itself a Republic, a form of government where the PEOPLE are sovereign,

for which it stands,

this government also being represented by the Flag to which I promise loyalty.

one Nation under God,

These 50 individual states are united as a single Republic under the Divine providence of God, "our most powerful resource" (according to the words of President Eisenhower)

Indivisible,

and can not be separated. (This part of the original version of the pledge was written just 50 years after the beginning of the Civil War and demonstrates the unity sought in the years after that divisive period in our history)

with Liberty

The people of this Nation being afforded the freedom to pursue "life, liberty, and happiness",

and Justice

And each person entitled to be treated justly, fairly, and according to proper law and principle,
for All.

And these principles afforded to EVERY AMERICAN, regardless of race, religion, color, creed, or any other criteria. Just as the flag represents 50 individual states that can not be divided or separated, this Nation represents millions of people who can not be separated or divided.

Thus it is that when you Pledge Allegiance to the United States Flag, You:
*Promise your loyalty to the Flag itself.
*Promise your loyalty to your own and the other 49 States.
*Promise your loyalty to the Government that unites us all,
Recognizing that we are ONE Nation under God,
That we can not or should not be divided or alone,
And understanding the right to Liberty and Justice belongs to ALL of us.

I for one am proud of this and of the men and women who protect it and our Country. I will not get in to any type of discussion with a juvenile who knows nothing about life. I will just say hopefuly one day you will grow up and show this Country and it's people some respect.

Kids will be kids. Respect isn't exactly a strong point with most of them. Maybe in a few years when he's pledging allegiance to the North American Union and making change with Ameros he'll look back on this period with a hint of nostlalgia. Hmmmmm.....probably not. But seriously, the wisdom of youth is an amazing thing. I remember when I was 14 and discovered chat rooms in the mid-90s; I thought I would become some kind of internet legend by dispensing my sage advice out to the masses. Yeah. That was awesome. I think I might still have the wizard hat and cape packed away somewhere. Kidding.
Best advice I can prescribe is to go through school absorbing the typical drivel they pass as education; get into the university of your choice; become an idealist according to particular political slant of the instructors on staff, and then have that idealism smashed to tiny pieces once you get a job and start living in the real world. If at all possible, rediscover the Bill of Rights and the history behind the Constitution. Then get back to me about that pledge you find so annoying.
