Hello all,

I am currently running Blackberry Professional Software version 4.1.4.3 and have used up all 30 licenses. We purchased an trade up key to BES. when i go to license management and put in the trade up key it just gives an error. It says Error: You have entered a BES Upgrade Key. Upgrade keys should only be used when upgrading to the Blackberry Enterprise Server Edition. I am not sure what the issue is...I am trying to upgrade it! anyways any help would be appreciated!!

You need to get hold of a copy of the BES software, just changing the key on your BPS server wont work.
When you install the BES software over the BPS server, it'll prompt you for the upgrade key.

Infact, I believe that if you just download the latest service pack for BES that would do the trick.

ok, im downloading sp6 as i am writing this. is it a pretty simple upgrade from Professional to BES? will anything be lost?

Yeah, It's not to hard, just double check everything you're doing.

Nope, shouldn't loose anything, all users should be ok, just remember you will have to reboot the server during the u/g.

When I did this RIM sent a link with a besupgrader file and had to use it.

Kind of like a service pack install.
