I've read some reviews of TeleNav for my 7520 and will surely try it out....

I'm wondering if there are any other GPS mapping applications out yet?

$120/yr for TeleNav seems like a lot vs. a $20 - $30 software or shareware type program.

Nextel has Mapquest for $4.99 a month. I haven't tried or heard any reviews about it but it should be a nice alternative.

No for the $10 telenav is the best. Mapquest does a few things but telenav is so much better it is worth the extra few dollars trust me.

I find it confusing with the 3 GPS services available currently; seems a bit contradicting with each other. I've only used Telenav and it's pretty sweet although I'm curious about Trimble as well. Telenav is not a true GPS software in that it is dependant on Data service. This would be useless for adventurers who venture to more remote areas where reception is not good.

Just wanted to let you know there is a new software just released May 25 2005 out for Blackberry 7520 from a company called Trackem at www.trackem.ca based here in Hamilton Ontario Canada,

This is good news for us here in Ontario because we do not have what Nextel has to offer for the GPS.

(Also to let you know Trackem is also expanding into the USA)

Trackem offer GPS Tracking and mapping (using mapquest) and history with details including how long you were at a certain location.

Trackem is user friendly and can be accessed from any PC anywhere.

Also have the ablity to have your location sent to your Blackberry with Mapquest!

I don't want navigation at the moment. I just want to know my longitude and latitude so I can go back in time and tag my online photos with that information. Do any of you know of software that will show that data on a BlackBerry 7100?

You might want to try Trimble. It is not Nextel network dependent. It turns the BB7520 into a true GPS unit to be used in "the sticks!"
